Compensation

  • $100 per hour
  • Paid monthly 
  • Up to 30 hours per week with ability to expand if good fit

About the Role 

As a Senior Fullstack Frontend Developer, you will lead frontend development for multiple strategic client engagements. You will spend time as an IC contributing to project code working alongside product managers, designers, and other engineers. You will also consult on tech architecture needed to build scalable web and mobile applications. You will translate complex technical challenges into elegant solutions and technical architectures, write high-quality production code, and ensure delivery of reliable, performant experiences that drive client success and user adoption.

Technical Development and Architecture 

  • Develop and maintain frontend web applications using modern frameworks and best practices across the entire technology stack. 
  • Design, architect, and implement robust APIs, databases, and frontend interfaces for complex client projects.
  • Own end-to-end frontend development lifecycle from technical discovery through deployment, testing, and ongoing iteration.
  • Write clean, well-tested, production-quality code with comprehensive automated testing and monitoring.
  • Build responsive, accessible user interfaces that deliver seamless experiences across devices and platforms.
  • Implement and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models to ensure performance at scale.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, authentication systems, and other services as needed.

Code Quality and Best Practices

  • Participate in thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and design patterns.
  • Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tooling, and team workflows. 
  • Adhere to engineering best practices including test-driven development, continuous integration/deployment, and DevOps principles. 
  • Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack with systematic problem-solving.
  • Optimize application performance including load times, rendering efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure secure coding practices and implement proper authentication, authorization, and data protection measures.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and client stakeholders in distributed environments. 
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and estimation sessions.
  • Translate business requirements and user needs into clear technical solutions and implementation plans.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, from engineering teams to client executives.

Basic Qualifications 

  • 7+ years of professional frontend development experience with a proven track record of shipping production applications.
  • Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and understanding of at least one backend language (Node.js, Ruby, Python, Laravel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated expertise building web applications with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of backend integrations including RESTful APIs, database schema, and server-side architecture.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modern CSS frameworks/methodologies (Tailwind, Sass, CSS-in-JS, etc.).
  • Strong grasp of web development best practices including responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and performance optimization.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows (pull requests, code reviews).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment (AWS, Google Cloud, Heroku, Vercel, or similar).
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, FusionAuth, session management).
  • Experience with testing frameworks and writing automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end).
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in iterative development cycles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to debug complex issues across the full stack.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in remote and asynchronous work environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams including product, design, and engineering.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks like React/Next.js
  • Experience with state management libraries (Preferred Zustand)
  • Knowledge of modern API design patterns.
  • Experience with analytics platforms and event tracking (Google Analytics, Segment, Mixpanel, etc.).
  • Familiarity with payment processing and e-commerce systems.
  • Experience building data visualization interfaces and dashboards.
  • Understanding of WebSockets, real-time communication, and event-driven architectures.
  • Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and APM tools (New Relic, DataDog, etc.).
  • Knowledge of web security best practices and common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
  • Eagerness to learn and integrate AI tools to achieve development efficiency.
  • Background working in agency or consultancy environments serving multiple clients.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
